Plaintiff, a 40 year old woman slipped and fell on an ice patch while attempting to exit her car in defendant’s parking lot. As a result of the fall, plaintiff sustained a left trimalleolar ankle fracture which required surgery with the implantation of hardware to repair. Soon afterwards the plaintiff developed a neurological condition cause complex regional pain syndrome which was treated with a course of pain management medications.
